What's up, Daybreakers?

(I always like to give backers a nickname related to the campaign. Not sure if "Daybreakers" is going to stick. Anyone have any better ideas?)

I wanted to pop in, welcome you all to the world of DAYBREAK! and thank all of you for a TREMENDOUS first day of the campaign! If you're keeping score at home, over a hundred of you jumped on board since the campaign began and we're currently over 60% funded. That's pretty great and goes a long way to alleviating the stress/anxiety that walks hand in hand with every crowdfunding campaign.

Over the last couple of years, in addition to my freelance work for DC/Marvel/Dark Horse etc, I was running Kickstarter campaigns for Ominous Press.  I got in the habit, when I wrote the daily updates for campaigns like Dreadstar Returns, to always try to impart to backers that the battle isn't won yet.

NEW PAIN is a tiny little outfit just getting their toes wet and could really use your help sharing word of the campaign to your friends in the comics community.  The message I'll be sharing on my social media today is that the Early Bird rewards expire in another 24 hours; I'd love as many people as possible to be able to take advantage of the discounted pricing; who doesn't love to save a buck? If you guys can get on your soapboxes too, the link to the campaign is  bit.ly/daybreakcomic. If you want to tag it with #daybreakcomic, I've been known to hold raffles to give a little back for the extra help.

Let's settle in together for the next 26/27 days and see what kind of trouble we can get into. Thanks for coming along for the ride and if you haven't already, maybe think about grabbing a Daybreak! T-shirt. They're pretty tight, as the kids say these days.
