Daybreakers!
All of us at the New Pain complex hope the holidays treated you well and your new year is off to a great start! Thanks to all of you, and the backers of our other campaigns, we had a really fun 2022 and our resolution is to expand on that in 2023.
This update is to let you know that, if you're interested, our first campaign of the year has reached the starting blocks. What is it, you may ask?
The Switch is back!
We've been working behind-the-scenes to bring The Switch back to life for the past several years and are excited to announce that we'll be offering a remastered trade paperback of the original hardcover graphic novel! This new softcover has a brand new cover by Tom. myself and RobbMiller, many enhancements to the interior content, a behind-the-scenes section featuring exclusive material, pin ups by Paul Pelletier, Neil Edwards and more, a new back cover by Netho Diaz and Corey King and more! And most exciting, at least to me, is that this release officially paves the way for Electricia's all-new adventure coming later this year. A lot of readers consistently ask Tom and I at conventions if we're ever going to do more Switch and finally, I can officially say yes!
So if you missed out on The Switch the first time around or might be interested in this new "ELECTRIFYING" edition, you can sign up to be alerted when the campaign goes live RIGHT HERE! Good morning, Daymakers!
Tom Nguyen and I were very pleased to meet several of you this past weekend at Terrificon. Thanks for coming by to get your copies signed and for your support of the campaign for the second issue. It really means quite a lot to all of us; we're working really hard to build a great comic series with your help.
And that brings us to:
If you follow me, Stefan or New Pain Pro on social media, you may have noticed we've been soliciting pre-orders for the second issue of Daybreak!
For those of you that haven't checked it out yet, I wanted to send a quick reminder that the campaign for Daybreak! #2 currently has 3.5 days remaining. The curtain closes on Thursday, August 4th of this week (my birthday, coincidentally enough). As I type these words, we're currently 91 percent funded so we're getting suuuuuper close. A bit of trivia: the most recent backer (picking up Daybreak! #2 and a new printing of the first issue) is the great Tony Isabella, creator of Black Lightning and writer of many great comics and columns over the years.
I've never met Mr Isabella so I'm kind of low-key bragging here that he backed our project. When comic pros that I admire support one of my projects (hey Karl, hi Alex), it makes me feel like I'm doing something right.

Missing backers and two weeks remaining!

Hey Daymakers,
A quick note this morning passed along from Landers at New Pain Central who, while combing through the backerkit surveys for this campaign, have realized 12 of you never completed your surveys. If you're still interested in obtaining your copy of Daybreak! #1, by all means go through your email to find the original survey or request another and it'll be sent out to you. You must have backed it for a reason, right? Enjoy the fruits of our labors or the spoils of your patronage or something like that.
The campaign for Daybreak! #2 has also reached the halfway point, 70% funded with two weeks remaining. If you're intending to continue to follow Daybreak's journey (and what a journey it is, believe you me) after the cliffhanger from the first issue, the link is RIGHT HERE, GOSH DARN IT!

The New Pain crew and I wanted to let you all know, if you haven't heard the news already, that the campaign for Daybreak! #2 is now live on Kickstarter!
We're a little biased but Stefan Tosheff and I both feel this issue improves on the first in every way possible. The second issue also has a Daybreak variant cover by Kevin West, a special "DOCMATTER" variant cover from Neil Edwards and an "adults-only" cover by our very own TomNguyen that shows off Daybreak like you've never seen her before.
